She was just coming from the Barnes and Noble in Union square where she was looking for a copy of the Bhagavad Gita. She didn’t get a copy because she felt she wasn’t ready for it yet so she left then she walked by the Harinam literally moments later. I went up to her and showed her our set with the “Bhagavad Gita” and she was blown away. She told me what just happened to her and I told her: “that’s absolutely amazing, Krishna wanted you to read the real ‘Bhagavad Gita as it is’ presented by his pure devotee Srila Prabhupada. It’s the best version of the Bhagavad Gita on the planet, trust me.”

Taish nice lady from Brazil.
She was walking by me in the park and I approached her immediately.
I asked her if she meditates and she said: “not really but I’m really spiritual and I like to read about different spiritual beliefs. I’m familiar with some Indian philosophy and I know Hare Krishna from back home in Brazil.” I told her that we just ask for a donation and she gave generously. She was meeting her husband and son in the park and they showed up just after she got the set and watched the kirtan for a little bit.

Vrindavan kirtan prabhu gave her an invitation to Ratha yatra as she was passing by Madhava Prabhu’s kirtan. Then I went up to her and showed her our set. I told her: “You look like a very interesting person are you into spirituality? You look very peaceful.”
She was happy to hear the kirtan and see the devotees dancing. It put her in a nice mood and she was very receptive. So I just said: “we only ask for a donation, please can give something you deserve these books.”

Nice group of Buddhist monks receive Srila Prabhupada’s “Bhagavad Gita as it is” from Gopal Champu prabhu. Jay Srila Prabhupada!

They walked by the Harinam in Union square park and immediately stopped and offered their respects by folding their palms. Gopal Champu prabhu showed them the Gita and the leader opened his wallet and gave a nice donation for it from his heart! They sat down for kirtan for a little bit and wanted to take pictures with us. They had their photographer with them as well. Really sweet moment. Jay Gaura Hari!

Her is name is Aliyah.
She’s a very intellectual young lady. She works as a model here in New York.
I was telling her how these books help us understand that we’re not this body but a spirit soul. They talk about how real spiritual happiness is in serving Krishna who we’re parts and parcel of.

Simone lives in Washington DC but comes to visit New York often.
Ramaraya prabhu was showing her the “Bhagavad Gita” and preaching to her. Then he asked me to continue speaking to her.
She was looking at the “Science of self realization” with great interest also. She really loves to read so I said: “You look like a very peaceful intelligent person, these books are about eternal spiritual knowledge. How to distinguish what is real and what is illusion. All the book distributors were busy preaching to numerous people and I saw this nice girl watching the Harinam so I left my kirtan spot to talk to her. She was so happy and told me she felt something so spiritually powerful, such a fabulous vibration! (HG Rama Raya prabhu was chanting and enchanting everybody)! I started to preach to her, showing her one book after another. For each book her response was:"PERFECT, PERFECT!" So I sold her a “Bhagavad Gita” and “Beyond birth and death”, and then Krishna Prasad prabhu came over and showed her the “saptarishi” set. She was a super ripe fruit, ready to receive this wonderful gift of transcendental knowledge.

When I saw Ishvari Jahnava mataji talking to her and how enthusiastic this girl was, I went over to see what was happening. I asked her if she meditates and she said: “I pray!” So I asked her how long or how often and she told me: “I pray at least twice a day, but now I want to meditate on God all the time throughout the whole day. At that point I knew the set was the right thing for her.

Rajesh from Uttar pradesh, India.
He’s been living in New York for some years now and owns a magazine store in the bowery downtown Manhattan. At first when he came across the Harinam he asked if he could sit with us and chant. He was clapping and chanting for at least a half an hour. Then I showed him our set and he told me that he has many of Srila Prabhupada’s books. He also used to distribute books in India regularly. He told me that this work of book distribution is a great service to the Americans. She indeed likes to read about spiritual topics and was interested when I showed her our set.

I saw these two nice guys and one of them had a Rudraksha beads necklace on so I said: “Wow you guys look like super spiritual people. You look like two yogi sages. Are you guys spiritual?”

She’s been living and working in New York for some time now. Vishnu and I approached this peaceful looking lady and asked her if she meditates or practices yoga and she said that her daughter has been a yoga teacher for many years. We talked to her about it some more and she said she learned a lot about meditation from her daughter and that she left her corporate job to learn yoga in India. This cool guy was walking by and I said: “yo my bro you look like young money. You know what I mean! You made it.” He gave me a friendly smile.
He told me he’s been spiritual his whole life and he’s been meditating seriously for the past 3 years. I asked him if he reads and he told me that he used to but wants to get back into reading more.
I showed him our set and told him: “These books inspired many different thoughtful people like Tupac Shakur, Mohammed Ali, Bob Marley and Martin Luther King Jr to name a few. Please check them out. In Barnes and noble each one of these books would cost $30 but we ask for very little in comparison.”

Really great guy from London.
He loves George Harrison and the Beatles. His mother used to take him to the Bhaktivedanta manor when he was a kid and he always loved going there. He has nice childhood memories of the devotees. He works as a concert promoter in the music business and volunteers as a part time teacher for Autistic kids. A really good hearted gentleman. He had seen the Harinam a few weeks ago in Penn station subway but he was in a rush and couldn’t stop. Now he had a little time and was happy to talk to me. She came up to the book table and said: “Hare Krishna how are you?” She’s from Jamaica but she’s been living in Florida for the past few years. She’s on a short visit to New York. She was feeling very sentimental seeing the devotees and told me that she had met a nice devotee named Laura back in Jamaica. She received a “Bhagavad Gita as it is” from her and became familiar with Srila Prabhupada’s teachings. They would get together often and discuss Krishna consciousness philosophy. Moses, 45 year old, really humble gentleman. He was happy to come up to the book table and talk to me. I told him: “wait a minute let me take off your hat for a second. You know your 3rd eye is open right!” He works with the city helping victims of crime. He had some nice meditation bracelets on him and I complimented him on them.
He met a friend of his who knew someone who was a Hare Krishna. Ever since then he’s been curious about Krishna consciousness. He was glad to take the set and told me: “you know it’s great that I met you because I really need a guru myself.”

Then her young daughter looked at her mom and enthusiastically said: “Mom you can trust them!” So the mom took the set! Great exchange.

She especially loves reading the “Science of self realization.” She’s been coming regularly to sit with the Harinam for kirtan, some days she spend 2 or 3 hours on the mat without moving. She had a Rudraksha necklace on and I asked where she got it. She said an Indian guru gave it to her on a yoga retreat. She just completed a Kundalini yoga teacher training program. She’s a fully certified yoga instructor. She came from a yoga class. She told me that she wants to go away somewhere and just spend her time reading spiritual books. I showed her our set and she was inspired. She was actually humble and said she doesn’t know much philosophy but really wants to learn.

Actually really genuine soul looking for Krishna consciousness.
She’s French Algerian and a Muslim who wanted to know more about God. She first saw the Bhagavad Gita in my hand and told me she ordered a copy online. She told me yoga is not the physical but about really connecting spritually with God and I said that’s exaclty right.
She was fasting for Ramadan so I gave her a prasadam cookie for her breakfast.
I told her: “If you water the root of the tree all the leaves are nourished.” She told me: “yes I believe that, I’ve read the Koran and I want to know more.” She began reading some passages from the Srimad Bhagavatam and she was blown away.
I told her: “God is a person and you can have a relationship with Him. You can break away from the clutches of birth and death and enter into the spiritual abode.”
At the end she went to Whole Foods to do some shopping and do some thinking about getting the set. After 10 minutes she came back and told me she wants to get the set, she was convinced.

She told us: “I sit here everyday on my break and listen to your chanting but today something told me to come straight over to you guys.” She works at Wendy’s around Union square park.
Gopal Champu prabhu told her: “Whoever reads these books will get many blessings and they will solve all your problems.” She was submissive and needed the mercy. You can really see how Krishna is actually distributing the books.

He had this interesting looking book in his hands and I asked him what it was about. He told me it’s about Jesus Christ and the story of creation. I told him the Srimad bhagavatam also speaks about the process of creation in great detail and in the Bhagavad Gita Krishna speaks about how He’s the source of all spiritual and material worlds. He was interested so I showed him our set and I mentioned that the “Science of self realization” also has a chapter in it called “understanding Krishna and Christ.” How the name of Christ originally comes from the name of Krishna. (Krishna, Krista, Kristos, Christ!)

Somehow I felt that Krishna and Prabhupada are going to send someone to take a Mahat tattva set.
Then I ran into this wonderful lady. The experience was a life changer for both of us. She’s a single mom with 2 kids to take care of. She’s been practicing TM meditation for the past 2 years.
She told me: “you guys are all so sweet, caring and loving people. So nice to see that in New York City.”
I told her we are monks and try to develop caring qualities as best as we can. She got a “Saptarishi” set from me and then I gave her a prasadam cookie and an extra 2 cookies for her kids. Right after eating she started crying and told me: “I’ve been through a difficult time supporting my family and believe it or not I was going to kill myself not long ago during my divorce. I needed to meet you today and get these books.” She gave a very generous donation so I gave her the “Prabhupada lilamrita” as well.
