Mahotsaha prabhu distributes a “Saptarishi” set! {7 maha big books in one shot} Jay Srila Prabhupada!

Krishna prasad prabhu recalls:
Really nice guy named Gilbert from the Washington heights section of Manhattan. He was in a hurry on his way to work but he was into checking out the books. He’s a self taught java script programmer who works full time in a Manhattan based computer
software company. I explained to him that these books contain the original ancient spiritual knowledge from India translated from Sanskrit into English for the upliftment of society. I showed him a “Bhakta stack” then I showed him a “Sapta” set and he said it would be great for him and he can also give a few books as gifts to some of his friends. He lives close to our ashram so I also invited him to our Sunday feast program.

Mahotsaha prabhu recalls:
Ram gifts Kam!
The first thing Kam ever asked me was, do I have anything on Kali Yuga?! I was surprised because not everyone does that. Then I showed him our “Sapta” set and opened up the SB 1.1 and it just naturally opened up to verse 1.1.10: “O learned one, in this iron Age of Kali men almost always have but short lives. They are quarrelsome, lazy, misguided, unlucky and, above all, always disturbed.”
He was shocked, so was I and he expressed how the verse spoke about everything he was thinking about, It was unbelievable! Then he saw the Gita and couldn’t believe that he found such a copy. He was saying he can’t believe that there are people in this age who carry around this knowledge and are sharing it. He said he would’ve never imagined that he’d be walking down Fulton street and come across such an immeasurable fortune. Seeing his sincere desire our friend Ram came over to talk with him. Ram got a book from us 2 years ago and is now chanting 16 rounds and following the 4 regulative principles for the last year and a half! He told him he would be willing to gift him the entire “Srimad Bhagavatam” set for the holidays. Kam couldn’t believe it, he was overjoyed and came today to pick it up. He was profusely thanking Ram and our humble self. Such are the pastimes of Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu!

It’s Kam, he just got a “Saptarishi” set on Saturday and today he came back for a “Srimad Bhagavatam” set! Ram prabhu and Mahotsaha prabhu ki jay! Jay Srila Prabhupada!

Last Saturday when he got a “Saptarishi” set!

Some months ago Anna was walking by in the Times Square subway and met Gopal Champu prabhu who distributed a “Prabhupada Lilamrita” to her. She had told him that she regularly chants Hare Krishna on japa beads and has already read the “Bhagavad Gita as it.” Then a few weeks after that she ran into the Harinam again in the same Times Square subway along with her husband who’s from Nepal and this time they got a “Ramayana” and a “Saptarishi” set! Then another time a few weeks later they picked up a “Srimad Bhagavatam” from Mahotsaha prabhu! And today they came by the Yuga dharma ashram for the Sunday feast and picked up a “Chaitanya Charitamrita” set!

Mahotsaha prabhu recalls:
Really sweet guy named Mark from New York. I’ve known him for about 5 years now since I was a bhakta and I was hoping at the time that he would join the Harinam ashram but he decided to join the US army instead. I always tried keeping in touch with him throughout the years even though we parted ways. But recently out of the blue he added me on Facebook and we exchanged some messages. He told me that he’s been reading the Bhagavatam online but he intensely desired to have a physical copy of it! So he agreed to get it from me the next time he had a break from his army work. He’s in New York for 2 weeks for the holidays so he came down to get it from me. He’s also coming to the Sunday feast tomorrow. He was also telling me that it’s hard being a vegetarian in the army and he’s been trying to stick to it.

From soldier to soldier! Soon he will join Lord Chaitanya’s Sankirtan army!
Mahotsaha prabhu distributes a “Srimad Bhagavatam” set! Nityam bhagavata sevaya!

Really nice lady named Tulasi Margaret originally from Guyana now living in the Richmond hill section of Queens. Mahotsaha prabhu and Ram (who’s in the picture standing next to her) actually met her in the Fulton street subway station last week while distributing books there. She got a few small books from them but she was very interested in getting a “Srimad Bhagavatam” set which was on display at our book table. So we told her that we can deliver it to her and we made the trip today for a special Christmas Day home delivery! She was ecstatic and bought some “Bhakta stacks” to distribute to her friends and family too!

Bhakta Jason recalls:
Really nice guy named Dr. G short for Garland (yes that’s his real name!) He’s from Maine but visits the city often. He’s been an Organic dairy farmer up in Maine for many years now. He started working at a farm few years ago and he convinced the owners to stop killing the animals on the farm and just specialize in dairy farming instead! He showed them how to start chanting and doing kirtan also. He’s been a strict Vegan since high school and an animal rights activist. He was really into Buddhism then he met Bhakta Jeff about 7 years ago who introduced him to Krishna consciousness. Since then Dr. G has read the “Bhagavad Gita as it is” and his favorite book is “The science of self realization.” He knows a lot about cows and cow protection too. He teaches others how to do composting and is quite active in Organic agriculture as well. Very humble friendly person.

She was happy because she has a twin sister named Ananta who’s pregnant and is reading a lot of Srila Prabhupad’s books! She wanted to take the set to share some of the books with her sister and start reading some of them herself. I had shown him some of our books but he told me that he didn’t have the money because he gets paid next week. He promised to come back and see me for the books which he did today! He told me that he was into all this kind of spiritual knowledge and wants to learn and understand about the truth of life and what makes the world work. He was saying that he was having a difficult time getting inspired in his search for spiritual truth because a lot of his friends and family weren’t really supportive or interested and it wasn’t easy finding others like him. He was happy to meet us and wanted to keep in contact and wants to get some association so he can get inspired again spiritually. I got his contact info and invited him to our Sunday feast program.

Real nice gentleman named Cory who’s serving in the US Army, he’s based in Tennessee. He’s in New York for the holidays to visit his family. He was walking by and noticed our book table sign “Books on spiritual knowledge” and he stopped to talk to me. He asked me what kind of books we have? He mentioned that he’s not into mainstream religions. He works more with the heart and he felt in his heart that there’s something different about these books. I told him yes of course he’s right these books will give him the knowledge of the absolute truth and he said that’s great he’s been looking for these kind of spiritual books. At the same time as I was talking with him Mahotsaha prabhu was talking with another friend of his who was getting a Bhagavatam set and is also in the army. So we introduced them to each other and they started talking about the books and some army talk too. It was nice to see both of them getting Krishna’s mercy at the same time.

Krishna prasad prabhu recalls:
Really nice lady named Cordelia.
She’s a full time administrative assistant working in midtown Manhattan. Mahotsaha prabhu had stopped her a while ago and gave her an “On chanting Hare Krishna” pamphlet. When I saw her today I told her that she has good energy and she said that’s exactly what Mahotsaha prabhu told her the last time she ran into us! She asked me if we use that line on everyone and I told her that we only use it on the people who actually have good energy like her! She smiled then I showed her our set because she told me that she likes to read books in sequences so I told her to just start reading the set from the bottom and end with Srimad Bhagavatam which is on the top. I explained to her that this is a world of suffering but we’re not supposed to be going through all these kind of difficulties, we’re meant to live happily in the spiritual realm eternally united with God. She was very appreciative because I spent about 10 minutes answering her questions and she happily took the set.

When I showed her our “Sapta” set she told me that she hasn’t gotten herself a Christmas present yet and these books look absolutely perfect. She told me that it’s probably the best gift she can give herself, the gift of spiritual knowledge so she was happy to take the set and give a donation.

I asked her what she does and she sells clothes at a woman’s upscale clothing boutique. I showed her our “Sapta” set and told her how rare it is to find people from Algeria who chant the Maha Mantra, she knew it by heart and she’s really into Krishna bhakti. I told her how these books are the best gifts of spiritual knowledge and explained how people give donations then I told her nobody gave a $100 today and she took out a $100 right there and gave it as a donation. Gopal Champu prabhu recalls:
We were distributing books in the hallway at Penn station and they have many police officers and army personnel present for security. This nice gentleman who was on a duty with a few other soldiers was patrolling close by and was looking over. I went over to him and asked him if he was a spiritual guy and he said yes so I showed him our set and told him that it’s the ultimate collection of books on spiritual knowledge. I explained each book a little bit and when I got to the Gita I told him that in this book Krishna, the Supreme personality of Godhead, is talking to his friend Arjuna who’s like the best warrior. Arjuna is having some difficulty making a decision of wether or not to fight and Krishna is instructing him to do his duty and fight. He liked that point I was making then one of his fellows soldiers came up to us and asked me if this is a religion. So I answered: “this is actually beyond religion, for example if I tell you that this body is composed of earth, water, fire, air, ether, mind, intelligence and false ego then apart from all these material elements is the soul in every body you can understand that it’s beyond material designations like black, white, Asian, Hispanic therefore it’s beyond religion and it’s purely spiritual.” He gave a nice donation for the set and said that he was going to leave some of the books in the break room so that the other army officers can also read them!

I showed him our set and told him that these books not only explain the nature of the material world but also how we can spiritualize all of our activities! Then we can distinguish reality from illusion and reach to the highest point of spiritual bliss, knowledge, and eternity.
