  He told Gopal Champu prabhu that he has a 26 year old son and he’s wondering what’s next for him! He feels likes he’s lived his life and is getting older. He wants to know more about meditation.

We spoke a little more and he said he's been trying to learn more about himself and what is really the truth. Gopal Champu prabhu recalls:
He came on the train at 59th st Columbus circle and sat next to me on the train. We began speaking and soon I placed a Bhagavad Gita in his hand. He told me his favorite person was Hanuman so I pointed to arjuna’s chariot and said there's Hanuman! Then I told him I had a special stack of books for him and put the mahatattva stack in his lap. He took it and happily gave a $100!

Gopal Champu recalls:
He was watching the harinam with great interest so I approached him and asked: "you look very peaceful, what's your secret?” He replied "the man upstairs saved me, I came from a rough part of Boston and I'm a recovering addict." I went on to show him the Bhagavad Gita and explained how it means the song of God. He said that he noticed how his addiction and other problems were coming because of his mind, I then showed him bg 6.6 verse:

" For him who has conquered the mind, the mind is the best of friends; but for one who has failed to do so, his mind will remain the greatest enemy."

He said "wow that's amazing, can I keep this book? I don't have donation, but I have food stamps." He went to the supermarket and bought water and fruits in exchange!

Sunday afternoon walking Harinam Sankirtan in Times Square. Many tourists join in as the devotees chant!

On his way back to the ashram Gopal Champu prabhu walked into a McDonald's on 145th street and approached this couple that were sitting having their meal. He asked them if they liked meditation and Jamal replied "I pray, I'm Muslim." I told him that Tupac also enjoyed reading the Bhagavad Gita and he was also Muslim. His wife Jackie said "We have to get these books, I really want to read them." They happily gave a donation!

The kid in the black hoodie came up to the book table and said his mother gave him a $100 and he wants to give it to us! We asked his mom and she said he can do whatever he likes with his allowance so we gave him a “Saptarishi” set! 

This is Dorian an 11th grade math teacher. Govind prabhu gave him a card to 26 2nd Ave and a “Bhagavad Gita as it is”, when he asked for a donation Dorian said: “I guess I'll give $26 because I saw that number on the card." Then Gopal Champu prabhu politely asked how much do you like to read? He replied A LOT!
So Gopal Champu prabhu gave him a “Saptarishi” set and asked if he could give a little more donation!
Dorian said: “I've already given $26 and I can give another $26 since the address is 26 2nd Ave.”

This nice lady from St. Petersburg used to visit the temple in San Diego when she lived there. Now she moved to New York and wants to go to the temple regularly here! Divyangi mataji took all her contact info.

This nice lady, Marianne, met Srila Prabhupada in 1966 at the Sunday love feast in 26 second avenue “Matchless gifts” temple! She purchased a “Krishna book” from Gopal Champu prabhu!

 She never become a full on devotee but still chants to this day and has taught her children and grandchildren how to chant Hare Krishna !

Johnathan came by the harinam at 7:35pm while we were packing up and said he really likes meditation. He already owns a copy of the Bhagavad Gita. Gopal Champu prabhu showed him the sapta set and he was incredibly interested but had no money. Syama Mataji then sponsored the set for him! He said "Wow today’s my lucky day, thank you so much!”

This kind lady said she’s very interested in spiritual knowledge. Her cute daughters name is Earth!

This is Kevin from Brooklyn. He started meditating when he was 16 years old. He told Gopal Champu prabhu that he was unemployed but felt it was important to invest in these books even if it’s financially difficult for him! A true sincere soul. Leap of faith!
