Pious Indian gentleman along with his wife and child. At first he came up to our book table and told me that he’s actually an avid reader so I showed him the Bhagavatam set which was on display. He wasn’t sure about taking it but I tried pushing him a little bit by saying that he deserves this special set and he can benefit his entire family by purchasing this amazing 18 volume set. Then I explained to him that the Srimad Bhagavatam is the literary incarnation of Krishna but he was still hesitating. So then I just showed him our “Sapta” set and he gave $108 donation for it but I told him if he gives a little extra donation he can get the entire Bhagavatam set what’s stopping him it’s a lifetime investment. He told me it’s ok he’s satisfied with the “Sapta” set and it will be enough so I said no problem. He took his family into the temple room for darshan then went to the parking lot, got in his car to leave but then decided to come back and see me at that point and take the Srimad Bhagavatam set!

Back home back to Godhead for this nice family from Florida originally from Puerto Rico! They were just in New York City for the holidays visiting some family members and were on a road trip through Washington DC making their way back to Florida. I just went up to them and asked the father in Spanish if he likes to read and he said yes. I asked him if he prefers reading English or Spanish and he said both so I showed him our set. I explained how we’re monks and we just ask for donations for the books then he didn’t hesitate and gave a generous donation and they took the set.

Really nice gentleman who was doing a protest against war in front of the White House. He had a banner saying “no war with Iran” and other banners saying things like “War is not the answer” so I approached him. I showed him our set and told him to please take these special books of spiritual knowledge from India. He asked me what they’re about so I explained that these books teach the ultimate peace formula! I also told him that they will solve all the material problems of life if he applies the knowledge inside them. He said: “okay he’s interested and bought the set from me!”

Nice family from Los Angeles on holiday in Washington DC. I first stopped the mother and she told me her name is Rohini and I said wow that’s the name of Lord Balarama’s mother! She told me that she and her family visit the LA temple regularly. I told her that we’re out here doing the best welfare work for the whole world by distributing the Bhagavad Gita to everybody. I asked her if she’d like to help us in our efforts and she was very generous with her donation so I gave her a “Sapta” set even though she told me that she had most of the books already. I told her that she can distribute the books to her friends and family and share the knowledge with them. I also told her that Krishna says in the Gita that someone who shares this transcendental knowledge with others becomes very dear to Him so she took the books and promised to distribute them.

Really nice couple from Peru visiting the White House on holiday. I approached them because they looked pretty peaceful and asked them where they’re from and they said New York but originally from Peru. I told them that’s amazing because I’m also visiting from New York. When the husband saw the books he said: “Krishna!” I said yes that’s right then he said let me ask my wife if she wants to take them. I told her these books are the best spiritual books in the world. I humbly asked her to please take the complete set, she gladly agreed and they bought them!

Pious gentleman from Hyderabad named Srinivas and his good wife.
The more you show the more you sell. It was completely amazing as his wife was walking in she saw the Bhagavatam set that we had on display and I could see that her eyes just lit up. She came up to me right away and asked me if that was the complete set of Srimad Bhagavatam with all 18 volumes and twelve cantos? I told her yes this is the entire set then she said it’s great she wants to get one and she called over her husband who paid for it on the spot. It’s wonderful to see Krishna’s magic at work especially if you take the time and trouble to bring the books and display them He always sends someone to take them.

Very nice couple from Tamil Nadu. I was showing the wife the “Bhagavad Gita as it is” and she suddenly looked over at the Bhagavatam set on display and asked me if we have it Tamil and I said yes I can ship it to her very quickly. So she and her husband ordered the set right there on the spot and gave a nice donation. She told me that she’s been listening to lectures on the Bhagavatam in Tamil so I told her that I’ll also send her some Tamil lectures by email.

Really sweet person named Samira from Newark New Jersey!
She works in Human Resources in Brooklyn. She’s also a part time writer who loves to read. Four years ago she received a “Bhagavad Gita as it is” from a devotee down in the wall street area and a few years later she got a copy of the “Science of self realization” then a few weeks ago she got a “Bhakta stack” from us during the Prabhupada marathon. I told her that these books will give her everything she could ever want and they will also inspire her with her writing. She was telling me how reading Srila Prabhupada’s books has helped her out a lot in a very positive way during some difficult times. I showed her our “Sapta” set and told her how it’s nice to have the hard cover books in her collection, she agreed and gave a nice donation!

Really nice gentleman named Lakim from Brooklyn! His name means good luck and it’s also derived from the Hebrew word Lechaim which means “to life!” At first we showed him the Bhagavad Gita and he told us that he already has a copy of it. He told us that he meditates daily and he just started practicing Vinyasa yoga.
We said: “wow Vinyasa that’s a very advanced form of yoga!” He was telling us about opening up the chakras and nirvana but we told him that he has to go beyond nirvana because yoga actually means to link to the Supreme Lord. He really likes reading so we showed him our set and he looked at the books in the set and told us that he also has a copy of the “Science of self realization” then he also told us that he can feel some spiritual energy from touching the books! He’s retiring soon so we explained to him about the different ahsrams like brahmacari, grihasta, Vanaprastha and sannyasa! He was working as a preacher in Yoruba in Nigeria for some time because he likes helping people spiritually so we told him about the Srimad bhagavatam and how some great sages assembled together thousands of years ago for a sacrifice to spiritually help and benefit all of humanity! He was hesitating to give a donation for the set but we explained how in Barnes and Noble they would cost so much more and he said: “you’re right it’s a great deal I’ll take them.”
