On the way back to the ashram I arrived at my stop and the elevator wasn’t working plus it was starting to rain outside too. I had my big Uline cart that has all the sets and books I take out with me every day. This nice guy helped me up the stairs with the book cart and he was very friendly. He told me that he saw me and another devotee I was with and actually wanted to talk to us. So of course, I showed him our set and he told me that he’s been looking to find a new more meaningful spiritual direction in his life. He’s from New Orleans and just moved to New York City. He still doesn’t know how to get around the subway system and he ended up taking the wrong train but he said it wasn’t by accident because he met me. I explained to him that the books will help him connect with God beyond any mundane religions. I told him that he can understand God on a very personal level and develop a loving relationship with Him. He was so happy to hear about Krishna consciousness and gave me his phone number to keep in touch with him. He’s also planning on coming to our Sunday feast.
