Very nice pious elderly gentleman from Tamil Nadu. There’s a sect of Mayavadis in South India who worship Radha and Krishna and Chaitanya Mahaprabhu as well. He’s a member and they’re really into Bhakti and always chant “Radha Krishna.” I showed him the Bhagavatam set and told him that he has to take a set home with him if he doesn’t take it who will? I told him that It’s rare to meet a person like him who has so much Bhakti for Radha Krishna. Plus he told me that he likes to read a lot so I explained that it’s Vaikuntha ekadasi which is a very auspicious day to purchase a set. He gave a very nice donation and thanked me for inspiring him to get the set.

Really nice gentleman from Alabama who became a Shri Vaishnava. His name is Vasudeva das. He’s very serious about his spiritual life and took initiation from a Shri Vaishnava sannyasi of the Ahobilam Matha which follows a very strict and austere style of spiritual practice with many rules and regulations. He’s a staunch follower and worshiper of Lord Vishnu. He has some trouble walking due to a disability and has a wheelchair to get around more easily so I met him because he needed some help with his wheelchair and I offered to assist him. I helped him get out of his wheelchair and stand up for darshan of the deities during his temple visit. After we took darshan I showed him the Bhagavatam set and told him that since he’s a devotee of Vishnu he should take this set as an exchange of love between him and the Lord. I expressed to him that it’s a perfect arrangement for him to receive this knowledge and who else is better qualified to appreciate it than him so he gladly purchased the set.

We were visiting a “Shri Nataji” temple when I met this nice gentleman from Gujarat. He just graduated from University and was with a group of his friends taking darshan and visiting the temple. Myself and Mahotsaha prabhu met them all outside the temple and I went to speak to him one on one and showed him our “Sapta” set. I explained to him that we’re monks visiting from New York City and that we distribute these books regularly to many New Yorkers daily and asked him if he could please take the set to support us. He’s a humble person and of course he appreciated our being brahmacaris asking for a donation right outside a temple and gave the auspicious amount of $51 as a show of respect and support.

Nice lady that came up to the Harinama just as it was starting and gave a donation. She told me that she visits Radha Govinda Mandir in Brooklyn regularly and already has some of Prabhupada’s books like the “Bhagavad Gita” and “Science of Self Realization.” I initially gave her two of our “Bhakta stacks” and told her she could share them with her friends and family as holiday gifts. She was reluctant to take them at first, but after telling her about our December marathon she ended up giving an even bigger donation from her heart. I then showed her the “Saptarishi” set which had some books by Prabhupada she hadn’t read yet, and she happily took it with her!

Very sweet gentleman named Surya from Rajahmundry, India! When I saw him I said “Hare Krishna”, he was happy to see me and offered his pranams folding his palms. He speaks Telugu so we spoke in Telugu with each other. I showed him our “Sapta” set and told him about Balaji and the seven hills and how we’re presenting this set of seven books in honor of the seven hills of Balaji! I humbly asked him to please take Lord Balaji home with him in the form of these special books! He was pious and very respectful towards Srila Prabhupada’s books and gave a nice donation.

Really nice person named Samina who’s half Indian and grew up here in New York.
She’s doing her yoga teacher training course at the moment at “Atmananda Yoga studio” in Union square in the downtown Manhattan area. When I first saw her I asked her if she likes to meditate but she kept on walking then I asked her where she practices yoga because she was carrying a yoga matt on her back and she stopped! I showed her the Bhagavad Gita and she told me that she actually has to study the Gita for her teacher training course! I brought her over to our book table and told her that I have more books than just the Gita and put the “Sapta” set in her hands then told her here’s another six books she can read! She was very interested and friendly and took all the books.

Pious Indian gentleman along with his wife and child. At first he came up to our book table and told me that he’s actually an avid reader so I showed him the Bhagavatam set which was on display. He wasn’t sure about taking it but I tried pushing him a little bit by saying that he deserves this special set and he can benefit his entire family by purchasing this amazing 18 volume set. Then I explained to him that the Srimad Bhagavatam is the literary incarnation of Krishna but he was still hesitating. So then I just showed him our “Sapta” set and he gave $108 donation for it but I told him if he gives a little extra donation he can get the entire Bhagavatam set what’s stopping him it’s a lifetime investment. He told me it’s ok he’s satisfied with the “Sapta” set and it will be enough so I said no problem. He took his family into the temple room for darshan then went to the parking lot, got in his car to leave but then decided to come back and see me at that point and take the Srimad Bhagavatam set!
