Krishna prasad prabhu recalls:
I went to buy some water for the Harinam devotees. I was walking around the port authority bus terminal on my way back to the Harinam with the water when I saw this nice Buddhist monk with his luggage and an assistant. I went up to him and he was immediately very friendly. He told me that he’s familiar with Srila Prabhupada and the “Bhagavad Gita as it is”, he even has a copy and has read it. He’s also met Radhanath swami and is quite familiar with the Hare Krishna movement. He told me he’s been practicing Buddhism for the past 21 years. I showed him our set and he was eager to give a donation and take the books. He was very humble and genuine. When I offered him a prasadam cookie he told me he will take it with him for tomorrow because he only eats once a day for lunch and that’s it. His assistant took a cookie and also took our picture.

Ananda prabhu recalls:
Really nice lady who’s been living in New York City most of her life but she’s originally from Puerto Rico.
She told me she likes to read a lot so I showed her our set and explained that these are ancient books of spiritual knowledge from India over five thousand years old. I told her how they don’t teach this knowledge in any college and it will help expand her consciousness so she can distinguish reality from illusion. She was really happy to get the set so she can learn more. Before she left I also told her that she will find the spiritual solutions to all material problems in Srila Prabhupada’s books.

Ana is a very sweet humble lady from the Dominican Republic.
She was listening to the kirtan and appreciating the chanting of the Holy names.
I went to talk to her and she told me that she’s been practicing yoga and doing meditation for many years. I showed her our set but she was saying that it might not be easy for her to understand high philosophy but I told her that these books are meant for everybody. I told her that she deserves to have this knowledge especially because she’s been doing yoga for so long. I told her it’s nice to learn the philosophy of yoga it will give a deeper meaning to her daily practice. She was pious and gave me a donation for the set.

We met a few in the Times Square subway and I remember he took a “Bhagavad Gita as it is” from me. He told me he’s been reading it and having amazing realizations in his life and he realized that he had to become more serious about his spiritual life. He’s had to go through different tests and he’s been traveling a lot but he now feels things in his life are much more clear. He really experienced that there’s a higher power in control and wanted to get more books so he texted me and I invited him to our Sunday feast at the ashram.

Krishna prasad prabhu recalls:
I met this nice pious Indian gentleman a few weeks ago on Harinam in Union square park. He was with some other Indian friends and he stopped to talk to me. He was wearing Tulsi neck beads and he told me he likes to practice yoga at home daily. He was happy to hear the kirtan and see all the devotees on Harinam and how we’re spreading Krishna consciousness in New York City. He took a “Science of self realization” from me at the time. He dropped by the Harinam a few times again since then and I invited him to the Sunday feast. He loved the ashram and I showed him our book room and gave him a little tour. He gave a very generous donation so I offered him our set and he told me how much he loves reading Srila Prabhupada’s “Science of self realization” book. He really liked the class and the prasadam feast as well.
