Wonderful lady named Jennifer from the Bronx! When she walked by the Harinam she immediately started dancing to the kirtan very enthusiastically. She’s a really spiritual person who’s into meditation and wants to learn more about the process. I showed her our “Sapta” set at first and wished her a happy Valentine’s Day and explained that this is the “Prema” set which means love of God! She started saying how amazing this is and she wants the books for sure! I told her to please take the books because she looks like she’s someone who’s very sincere and she’s qualified and deserves them. She was repeating yes yes and she was agreeing with me very sincerely. Then she told me that she has 8 meditation stone crystals and asked me what to do with them so I told her to put 4 stones on one side of the books and the other 4 on the other side of the books and then start reading the books carefully! She was so excited at this point that I also showed her the “Prabhupada Lilamrita” and told her that it’s the complete set biography of the greatest Guru master and it tells the story of how he started a world wide spiritual revolution and changed the hearts of so many people into real lovers of God!

Really sweet couple I met from Mexico! They were both watching the Harinam for quite some time and enjoying the kirtan. So I went up to them and asked them if they like meditation and spirituality. They said that they both like to meditate but they don’t really like yoga so much and I told them I don’t like yoga either and showed them our set. They said they enjoy reading a lot between the both of them and I said great here’s a lot for you to read! They both laughed but told me it’s too much for them to carry since they’re traveling back to Mexico in a few days. But I told them that these books are very special and if they make some space for these books in their bags then they’ll start making space for them in the spiritual world! They really wanted to support us by giving a donation and they ended up taking the set back to Mexico with them.

I was on my way back to the ashram after Harinam and I met this nice gentleman named Mickey in the street a few blocks away from the ashram. I really wanted to do one more “Sapta” set before going home and Krishna made the arrangement that I run into this nice person. When I saw him I complimented him on his dread locks and told him he looks very spiritual. He told me that he’s quite interested in meditation and feels the presence of God in the world around him. I showed him our set and told him how the books are meant to elevate and expand the consciousness, how they will give him the highest aspect of spiritual reality and help him distinguish reality from illusion. I explained how we’re monks and we ask for donations to help cover the cost of printing and shipping so we can keep distributing these priceless books to nice people like him. He was very happy to meet me and it turns out he literally lives on the same block as us. He paid me with Cash app and I invited him to our Sunday feast program.

Nice gentleman named TJ from Brooklyn. He was getting off work when he ran into us, he’s a construction worker in the downtown area where we were distributing books. He came up to us and asked us if we’re monks? Then he asked me about the books right away and started saying that this world is like the matrix and he knows it’s like a virtual reality or like a chess game! I told him yes he has a lot of understanding that this world is not the real thing, it’s the world of Māyā or illusion. I explained that in society the leaders don’t teach people this kind of spiritual knowledge especially because they want to keep everyone on the bodily platform that way people remain in ignorance and it’s easier for them to control us. I showed him our set and he was very much into receiving the knowledge, he was happy to take the books and gave a nice donation. He’s looking forward to visiting our ashram for the Sunday feast.

Really nice gentleman named Ivan from Mexico. He was watching the Harinam and happily listening to the kirtan. I noticed that he was wearing some bead bracelets so I asked him if he meditates and he told me that he recently just started meditating. We spoke in Spanish mostly, I showed him our books and explained about each book and told him how much we ask people to give as a donation. Then he turned to me and said that it was exactly the amount of cash that he had on him and he doesn’t believe it’s a coincidence, it must be meant to be that he ran into the Harinam today. He also really liked the way I presented the books to him because he’s a professional salesman and he primarily picked up on my sincerity. I told him that these books have the best spiritual knowledge so it’s something I can wholeheartedly do with every atom in my body day after day.

Nice lady named Fatima from Brooklyn. When I saw her I told her that I love her energy and asked her if she’s spiritual. She told me how she’s always been into reading spiritual books and she likes yoga and meditation. While I was showing her our set and explaining about each book, I also asked her a few questions: “Tell me are you a good person? Do bad things happen to you and have you ever wondered why?” She was becoming more curious and told me that it’s something to definitely think about. I told her that these books speak about such lofty ideas and give the best answers to all of life’s most difficult questions like where we come from and what’s the goal of life. I asked her to please buy the books because she’s a true spiritual seeker and it’s very rare to meet people like her. Just as she agreed to get the books someone passing by accidentally knocked over her lunch container but I told her it’s ok I have some nice vegetarian Kichari to give her instead and she happily took some home with her too!

Krishna prasad prabhu recalls:
Really nice lady named Natalie from upstate New York. She was on her way to catch a train back home. When I first saw her I told her that I love her energy. It’s true because she looked very peaceful compared to the other people running to catch their trains during rush hour. She told me that she actually met us before in Union square park a few summers ago but never got a book somehow. She attends “sacred sound” interfaith meetings in the lower East side of Manhattan regularly and they often do kirtans at those programs. She told me she loves the chanting and finds it very calming. She’s also a true to heart book worm who loves reading so I showed her our set and told her that this the most complete collection of spiritual knowledge meant to help us break free from the cycle of birth and death and I showed her the picture in the Gita with the changing bodies. She was saying that her birthday is on the same day as Mahatma Gandhi so I mentioned how he was always reading the Gita during his political career to get spiritual guidance and inspiration. She happily gave me the donation when I asked her for it and told me she looks forward to start reading the books tonight!
