Mahotsaha prabhu recalls:
I’ve seen him walking around the downtown area many times and often in Union square park too! I said hello to him, complimented him on his beads and told him that he looks like a very spiritual guy. He told me that he’s like the Guru of the east village and has been living there since his hippy days. He’s known the devotees for a long time and has read some of Prabhupada’s books in the past. I was inspired to show him a Srimad bhagavatam set because it’s Balarama Purnima. I told him that it’s the encyclopedia of all spiritual knowledge and that my Gurumaharaja, His Holiness Bhakti Vikas swami, told me if I distribute bhagavatam sets in the streets of New York it will revolutionize book distribution. I was also telling him that I’m a monk, he advised me to stay away from getting married and said it’s best to remain celibate!
He also took an Arabic “Bhagavad Gita as it is” for a Lebanese friend of his who likes to read spiritual books.

Balarama Purnima special mercy!

Mahotsaha prabhu recalls:
His father received a “Science of self realization” from us last week and he told him to come to Union square park and pick up a “Sapta” set for him on his way home (He saw it last week but somehow couldn’t buy it at the time). He’s a 15 year old high school student who loves to read. He just came from Strand book store where he bought some books on meditation and spirituality. He and his dad are going to share the set. That’s a good parent!

His dad sent him to pick up a “Sapta” set for him!

Mahotsaha prabhu recalls:
Nice young lady from Columbia.
She was sitting at the fountain next to the Harinam with all her luggage.
I told her she looked like a very intellectual spiritual person and asked her if she likes to read a little or a lot. She said she likes to read a lot actually. I showed her our set and told her these are spiritual yoga scriptures for all the civilized people like her. She told me that she’s currently living in Toronto and studying for a PhD in literature. I said: “Oh my God that’s great you should then definitely take these books and become a doctor in this spiritual knowledge.”

Gopal Champu prabhu recalls:
Really nice devotee family from England visiting New York for a few weeks. They came to join the Harinam party and chanted with us for several hours. One of the sons, the youngest, actually helped me distribute some books for at least an hour. They wanted to offer a donation to support our daily Harinam program so I told them about the fundraiser we’re having and they gave very generously. I offered them the Lilamrita set in reciprocation as a gift.

Mahotsaha prabhu recalls:
She walked past me with her daughter but I was having a conversation with someone and when I finished I ran after her and asked her if she likes to meditate. She told me that she’s into different kinds of meditation then I told her that I have something special for her. I showed her our set and asked her to take the books because this human form of life is so rare and it’s the best for understanding spiritual knowledge. She was quite interested then I said: “please it’s worth it to read these books trust me. The whole world will cheat you, the society, the system, friends and even family but these books won’t cheat you.” She was a bit shocked but she could sense that I was speaking the truth so she took the set.

Krishna prasad prabhu recalls:
I had to leave the Harinam early to buy some bhoga in preparation for the Balaram feast and as I was leaving I ran into these two nice Guyanese ladies.
One lady said she was Hindu and the other said she was a Hare Krishna. So I told her: “If you say you’re a Hare Krishna then you have to take these books but If you don’t take them you can’t call yourself a Hare Krishna!” She laughed and her friend also smiled. She was a pious soft hearted lady and gave a nice donation for the set. I was happy to do a set before I had to go back to the ashram.

Mahotsaha prabhu recalls:
On the subway ride back to the ashram I was standing with the book cart then I found a seat next to Krishna prasad prabhu and sat down.
Then this nice 32 year old gentleman named Eric entered the subway car and sat right next to us. I asked him: “wow, I love your necklace do you wear it for meditation, decoration or inspiration? Do you meditate?” He said he likes to wear the necklace for inspiration and it helps him to meditate better. I told him that he looks like a very spiritually inspiring person and that’s why he should check out these books. I explained that today was a special day, it’s Lord Balamara’s birthday, He’s just like Krishna but He’s white complexioned. I told him that I want him to get Lord Balarama’s mercy and that the reason people are suffering in this world is that they don’t realize they’re servants of Krishna and Balarama. If they realize that they’re servants of God then their lives would be great. He gave such a generous donation that I added the Lilamrita set as well.

On the subway ride back to the ashram! Amazing, Lord Balarama’s mercy!
Mahotsaha prabhu distributes a Super ”Mahat-Tattva” stack! {14 Maha big books in one shot} “Saptarishi” set and “Prabhupada Lilamrita” set together!

Mahotsaha prabhu recalls:
At the end when I was about to exit the train at my stop Eric showed me these two books he had on him. He told me that now he had received all these books from me he probably didn’t need them anymore. So he asked me if I could
take them and give them away. I said no problem I’ll put them in the bin on my way out. He laughed.
