This nice couple from Guyana was sitting on the bench right next to the Harinam and enjoying the chanting. I went up to them and offered them some prasadam cookies which they happily accepted with a smile.
I showed them our set and they were very inspired to look at the books. The husband told me he was Catholic so I said: “that’s very nice! It doesn’t matter wether you’re a Hindu, Buddhist, Muslim or Christian, whatever religion you’re following God is one. The most important thing is to develop love for Him. These books are meant to kick out cheating religion and they’ll help your family reawaken love for God.” They gave a nice donation so I also gave them some incense as an extra gift.

Krishna prasad prabhu recalls:
The Harinam was ending for the day and I was really praying that I can do another set before we had to pack up. Then I ran into this nice young lady from Trinidad who loves to read spiritual books! She was very interested in the books when I showed her our set she asked me how much of a donation should she give. She was pious and appreciated the chanting as well. I gave her some prasadam cookies before she left. Krishna sent her just in time.

Vanessa is living in the Bronx and she’s originally from the Dominican Republic.
When she first told me her name I told her that’s my sisters name! She smiled and we already had something in common.
She was saying how she recently watched a movie called “The secret” and it made her think. She doesn’t want to follow some kind of dogmatic philosophy but she wants to learn what life is all about and her purpose in the world. She told me that’s why she stopped by the book table because she saw our sign “books on spiritual knowledge” That’s what she’s looking for, just getting into spirituality. So I showed her our set and told her these books are perfect for her. At the end she expressed to me that she doesn’t usually like to read but this is something she can make an exception for!

Ananda prabhu recalls:
Cynthia lives in New York City but she’s originally from Venezuela.
I showed her our set and she told me she knows about the “Bhagavad Gita” She’s been a Yoga teacher for the last 10 years. She’s very serious about her daily practice.
I told her how many great minds, sages and yoga masters have read some of these books. I explained how this spiritual knowledge will elevate her consciousness and will also help her distinguish reality from illusion. She was very respectful and appreciative and was happy to give a generous donation for the set.

Jules from the Dominican Republic.
She told me she’s not a religious person but she’s definitely spiritual. I showed her our set and she asked me: “Is this Krishna?”
She told me that she has a really good friend of hers who always talks to her about Krishna.
She said: “you know that’s a lot of books and I might not read all the books.” I answered her: “No problem just put them in your home and you, your friends, your family, everyone will benefit spiritually because these books are very pure. If you find out that the books aren’t helping you in your life then you can always bring them back to us. Our Guru guaranteed that if one studies these books seriously and sincerely then they will get all the blessings to succeed.”
