I asked him where he’s from and he said Indore. I told him we have a big Iskcon temple there and he said he knows about it, he’s visited there many times. The dieties there are named Radha Govinda just like here in New York. He works in the financial district and moved to New York City fairly recently. I showed him our set and asked him to give a donation. He was eager to support us in our efforts of distributing Srila Prabhupada’s books and Harinam program. I gave him a card for the Brooklyn Radha Govinda mandir and took his contact info as well.

Ananda prabhu recalls:
I stopped her by telling her she looks so peaceful and then brought her to the book table. I showed her our set and told her that these books contain knowledge that expands our vision and open up our spiritual eyes. She told me she also believes that because she has a “Krishna book” and a “Bhagavad Gita as it is” and feels they’ve helped her see the world more clearly. I told her: “since you already have several books from our set, you should take the ‘Prabhupada Lilamrita’, it’s a great biography that also talks about how Srila Prabhupada started this world wide Hare Krishna movement. You would really appreciate it.”
She was happy to give a donation and told me she’s been to the Radha Govinda temple in Brooklyn several times so I put her in touch with a devotee from the Brooklyn temple who was at the Harinam.

She told me she’s seen us here in Atlantic Avenue Brooklyn a few times and was always curious about what we were all about. I showed her our set but she said she wouldn’t have time to read all of them now but I told her it’s alright she doesn’t have to read them now, she can take her time but just read them before she dies!
She asked me a few questions and said: “wow, you have all the right answers!” And I responded by saying: “yes that’s right because I read all the right books!” She smiled and appreciated my sense of humor. I told her how the books will help her solve the main problems of life such as repeated birth, death, disease and old age. I kept explaining how we are not these bodies or minds but we are actually Krishna’s eternal servants. I continued telling her that the books will give her full knowledge of the spirit, the relationship with the Supreme personality of Godhead, the loving exchanges we can have with Him and how to develop our love of God.

I waved at him and he came up and said hello. It turns out I had sold him a “Bhagavad Gita” in Times Square a while ago. He was telling me he got a lot of insight from reading it. I started telling him that I have the next step for him if he was ready and he said: “yes I’m ready, what else do you have for me, let me see.” So I showed him our set and he eagerly wanted to take it with him!

Really nice lady from Trinidad, she just recently moved to New York City.
She was looking at our books at the book table with great interest so I went up to her to show her our set. I told her: “these books will make your life sublime so please you have to take them. They will make your life auspicious also it’s guaranteed, trust me. Spiritual knowledge they don’t teach you in college!” She gave a donation and took the set home with her!

Nice lady from Hyderabad India.
I was actually saying hello to someone behind her but instead she turned around and smiled. I spoke to her in Telugu and told her about Balaji Krishna in Tirupati, how He’s the Lord of seven hills and if she takes these seven books she will get His blessings! I asked her to please take the set and give a donation. I offered her respect by bowing my head down and folding my palms. She was glad to support our program and give some Lakshmi in reciprocation.

Wayne originally from Jamaica living in Brooklyn. He is a dedicated vegan for many years. He came up to the book table because our sign “books on spiritual knowledge” caught his eye. He wanted to see what the books we had are about so I showed him our set. He told me he was a spiritual person and loves reading philosophy.
He was saying how he’s searching for a way to start his own business.
I told him he has the qualities of a brahmana because he was so interested in learning about eternal subjects. He was very kind and when I asked him for a donation he said he has no problem giving charity for spreading spiritual knowledge.
