Really nice guy named Freddie from the Bronx.
When I stopped him I asked him if he likes to read and he answered that he loves reading everyday. He told me that he’s a really spiritual person and also likes to do some soul searching. About a year ago he had a bad break up with his then wife and he became more spiritual after that experience. He has a few grown up children and now he has more free time to be more reflective and explore spirituality. Especially this last year he’s been on a journey of ups and downs which made him seriously want to understand what this life is about. When I showed him our set he was very happy to get the books.

Lokanath prabhu lives in the Brooklyn area close to where the Harinam party is set up today. He stopped by to say hello when he saw us doing kirtan. I offered him some prasadam cookies and he kindly offered a generous donation in return for the gesture so we gave him a “Saptarishi” set as a gift. He’s been an initiated devotee since 2005 when he moved here from Guyana with his family. He was saying that his children are all grown up now in their twenties and he wants to focus more on his Krishna consciousness. He told us that he’s going to run a few errands in the neighborhood and he’s coming back in the evening to sit and chant with us in the kirtan before he goes back home.

His name is Nate, he’s from the Bronx!
Devarshi Narada prabhu first stopped him and spoke with him then he came up to me and said this person is very interested I think he would take a set please talk to him. He was wearing some crystals and other gem stones and I told him that he looks like a spiritual guy. It turns out that his grandfather was a war veteran who traveled to Japan and Nepal and started looking into eastern spirituality then introduced him to eastern culture and religion when he was young. Nate started practicing martial arts and started learning about Buddhism and how to channel energy. He has a Buddha necklace and likes to be open minded about different spiritual paths, after showing him our set he took it without any hesitation. We also invited him to come to our Sunday feast program and he said he would definitely visit us.

Wonderful humble lady from China who regularly drops by the book table when the Harinam is in Atlantic Avenue Brooklyn. She always puts a donation in the basket usually $10. Over the last year she received all the small Chinese books we had to offer but today we had a special edition hard cover Chinese “Bhagavad Gita as it is” and she gladly accepted it.

Really nice gentleman named Nathan from Washington DC.
He’s a spiritual person and an interesting guy who came into New York City because his Guru was speaking at a yoga studio tonight. When he saw the Harinam he stopped on his own and watched in appreciation for quite some time. Then he put a donation in the basket so I went up to him and said hello and asked him if he’s seen us chanting before? He told me that he’s seen a Harinam party in DC and he received a Gita from one of the devotees. He really likes Krishna conscious philosophy so I showed him our “Sapta” set first and told him about each of the books then he gave a very generous donation so I also gave him the Lilamrita and explained that it’s Srila Prabhupada’s complete biography. He was very happy to receive an extra gift on top of the “Sapta” and told me he’s very eager to start reading the books.
