Really nice lady named Sandy from Baltimore. She saw us walking into a grocery store with some books in our hands and came up to ask if she could get a few of them! She’s a kundalini yoga instructor and likes to read spiritual books so we told her we’ll meet her outside with some very special books! We went to the car, took a “Srimad Bhagavatam” set out and showed her the set when she came out to meet us! It turns out her husband received a “Bhagavad Gita as it is” from devotees in the 1970’s and she’s also read it. I showed her verse 1.1.2 of the Bhagavatam: “Completely rejecting all religious activities which are materially motivated, this Bhāgavata Purāṇa propounds the highest truth, which is understandable by those devotees who are fully pure in heart. The highest truth is reality distinguished from illusion for the welfare of all....”
I explained how my Gurumaharaja HH Bhakti Vikasa swami gave me an instruction to distribute these Bhagavatam sets in the streets to the general public and how it would revolutionize spiritual book distribution. I was telling her that all people need this knowledge especially someone as spiritually inclined as she is plus her husband would definitely appreciate getting the opportunity to also read them. It took some convincing but she finally agreed to take the set home with her for the holidays!

Really nice young lady from Israel. We were on our Sunday walking Harinam and I approached her to see if she would take some books. She’s a spiritual person into yoga and told me that she’s been looking for answers about life in general and about the universe. She said that she’s been having some problems with her family lately and was looking for a way to clear up those difficulties! I told her that problems in the material world will always come and go but this ancient spiritual knowledge will teach her how to tolerate such problems and be more transcendental to them. She was very curious and looking forward to read the books as she’s already a spiritually inquisitive person so she happily gave a nice donation for the set.

He saw the books displayed on the book table and asked me about them. He likes to read a lot so I showed him our set and told him how we offer 7 books to open up the 7 chakras. How great minds like Albert Einstein have read the Vedas like the Bhagavad Gita for spiritual guidance and inspiration. I told him these books of ancient spiritual knowledge from India will show him how to break free from the cycle of samsara and go back to the spiritual world. He was very interested and wanted to get the set but wasn’t sure he could pay the full donation so then I explained to him that in a book store like Barnes and Nobles this set would cost at least $150 and we only ask for a fraction of that so he finally agreed and gave the full donation.

Very sweet guy named Jay from the Philippines now living in New York. He was with his girlfriend who’s from Texas. He came up to me and asked what we’re doing here with the chanting and the books. I told him that we’re monks who distribute spiritual knowledge. Then I asked him if he likes to read and he answered that he loves to read so I showed him our “Sapta” set and explained that all these books open up the secrets of the self within, nature and the universe. He was very interested in getting the set but his girlfriend said: “Hold on” and abruptly pulled him to the side. She was trying convince him to take only one book and at one point I overheard him telling her that he needs these books. Supersoul was acting from within to really convince him to take the set. Then after a few minutes they came back and started asking me questions about each book in the set so they can choose one to take. I showed them each book separately and briefly explained each one then I showed him the set again and told him how it’s a lifetime investment and that he deserves the books. I also said that each book costs around $15-$20 then he said: “wow but it’s only $50 for all 7 books so I want the set!” His girlfriend walked away unhappy that he agreed to take the set but he didn’t leave, he stayed and gave the full donation and took the picture with me. Supersoul convinced him despite some strong opposition, it was very nice to see his determination.

Her name is Angelique. I stopped her as she was walking by our book table. She’s a very sweet and friendly person when I showed her the set she told me that she likes Krishna! I said wow and she told me that she’s really getting into yoga seriously as a New Years resolution. When I explained that we accept donations for the books she said that she hadn’t offered her mom anything for Christmas yet but thought it would be a good gift to send her. She took the set immediately and gave generously from her heart and wished me a Happy New Year!

Bhakta Jason recalls:
I was sitting in Ramaraya prabhus kirtan and this nice gentleman came over to me and excitedly said: “hey how are you?” His name is Leonard X and we actually met each other a few months ago in the same subway station and he got a “Sapta” set from me back then. I got up off my chair and said please sit down and join the chanting but he said: “Na it’s ok I’m in a hurry but I just came here to support you guys and see how you’re all doing!” Then he took out some Lakshmi from his wallet and kindly gave it to me so I ran over to the book table to grab a “Sapta” set. I put the books in his hands and said: “this is a gift for you, please give them to someone as a present for the holidays!” He told me that since he already got a set from me last time he will give it as a gift to a friend of his. He was telling me how he’s already read several of the books from the set since he last saw me and he really likes the philosophy. He was happy to take another set and I was happy to give him some more books again.
