Nice gentleman named Muhammad originally from Pakistan. He’s been living in America since his college days. He studied to become a psychiatrist and now has his own successful practice based in Queens, New York. He was watching the Harinam and listening to the kirtan with interest when I went up to speak to him. I asked him where he’s from and he said he’s originally from Islamabad in Pakistan and I said wow I’m from Hyderabad (there’s a city in Pakistan also called Hyderabad like in India!) He grew up as a Muslim but since he’s been in America for so many years he hasn’t been very religious but he still wants to be spiritual in his life so he was open minded. I showed him our set and told him that since he’s a modern gentleman he would definitely appreciate this ancient knowledge. I told him that we want give these books to the intellectual society because educated people like him can influence others and make the world a better place. I pointed to the Gita and explained how many great minds like Albert Einstein, Emerson, Thoreau and Gandhi all read this book regularly for spiritual guidance and inspiration.
