Really amazing lady named Elizabeth from the upper west side of Manhattan. She saw the Harinam party and immediately sat down on the bare ground and began chanting the Maha mantra along with the kirtan. She closed her eyes and looked quite absorbed for at least ten minutes. Then she came up to the book table and I started speaking to her. She said that she’s a spiritual seeker and she roots herself in God through prayer and meditation. She likes to visit Amma when she’s in New York and attends other gatherings. She has some of our books like the Bhagavad Gita but I told her that I have a very special set meant especially for devotees like her. She knew a little bit about Srila Prabhupada but was happy to hear about his biography set when I was telling her how he made so many sacrifices to spread the chanting of “Hare Krishna” all over the world in only ten years. She’s been to Vrindavan and really loves going there regularly so I told her the reason that we know about Vrindavan is because Srila Prabhupada left Vrindavan to bring us Krishna consciousness. She wanted to give a donation and when I suggested how much she could offer she ended up spontaneously giving double the amount so I gave a Sapta set as an extra gift. When I handed her the Mahat tattva set she folded her palms and started literally crying because she was so overwhelmed. She lives a few blocks from our ashram so I also invited her to our Sunday feast program.
