I sat down by the fountain next to the Harinam and spoke to him. He asked me if I knew a guy named Aditya from back in India and I told him yes we used to be in a band together. He showed me a video he had of our old band playing a concert. He told me my old band mates talk about me all the time when they see each other and how I’ve changed my life and became a monk. He told me he has Srila Prabhupada’s Gita and he feels that he’s influenced by maya a lot due to lack of association with devotees. I told him to come and spend some time with the Harinam whenever he’s in the area and he can even come stay at our ashram on the weekends. I showed him our set and asked him to take the books but he said he didn’t want to take them now.
So I explained to him that this human form of life is so rare and we must take it seriously, over time purification happens and he will get a higher taste for spiritual life.
