As soon as we were setting up for the Harinam she came up to the book table to look at the books.
Her name is Raquel and she’s from Baltimore, she’s visiting some family in New York. She’s a professional massage therapist and very open to all spiritual teachings. She’s been through different spiritual paths throughout her life. She grew up as a Christian, she’s prayed in the mosque with some Muslim friends and her grandmother is a Buddhist.
She likes to read so I showed her our set and told her these books will bring her enlightenment and make her peaceful. I spoke to her about the Bhagavad Gita and how it explains time, the nature of the material world and our eternal spiritual identity as servants of God. She was interested in learning more so she happily took the set.
